MHPSS Officer

About the role

The MHPSS Officer will support field teams in delivering mental health and psychosocial support services across the designated area. This role ensures that case management, coordination, and program activities are implemented effectively and in line with IMC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and organise the work of MHPSS case management staff, including roving social workers, psychotherapists and psychiatrists.
• Assist in recruitment, scheduling and performance monitoring of MHPSS field staff.
• Coordinate logistics, procurement, human resources and budgeting for MHPSS activities.
• Collect programme data, prepare written reports and represent IMC in inter‑agency and local coordination meetings.
• Ensure proper management of psychotropic medicines in collaboration with the pharmacy team.
• Support monitoring and evaluation, develop tools, and track indicators against project objectives.
• Assess capacity‑building needs, develop training plans and ensure documentation of all training activities.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least three years of experience in mental health or psychosocial support programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams in humanitarian settings.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills, with experience in logistics and budgeting.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with partners and stakeholders.
