About the role

We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Port Harcourt. The role involves processing patient specimens, performing laboratory tests, and ensuring high-quality results in a clinical setting.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, receive, process, and analyze patient specimens.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests following approved procedures.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Document and report laboratory results accurately.
• Maintain strict quality control and quality assurance standards.
• Follow laboratory safety, hygiene, and infection‑control protocols.
• Identify and promptly report abnormal or critical test results.
• Keep proper records of specimens, test outcomes, and laboratory activities.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with the appropriate regulatory body.
• Valid practising licence or certificate.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
