Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Kenex Konsults International is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems across construction and industrial projects. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and standards‑compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve mechanical systems, equipment and components.
• Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications and project documentation.
• Participate in planning, execution and commissioning of engineering projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical recommendations.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors and contractors on specifications and procurement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) from a recognised institution.
• Up to 24 months of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, construction, oil & gas or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, HVAC, pumps, compressors and production machinery.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
