Maths Expert – Remote Contract

About the role

This is a short‑term, remote contract position for a Maths Expert who will design and solve challenging mathematical problems to evaluate large language models. The role starts immediately and lasts for 11 weeks, requiring 8 hours of work per day with a 4‑hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve challenging maths problems for LLM evaluation.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers on evaluation benchmarks and reasoning tasks.
• Help define new benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyse and solve complex mathematical problems using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts clearly with simple language, visuals, and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Creative and lateral thinking.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
