Lubrication Technician – Manufacturing

About the role

The Lubrication Technician will support the plant’s preventive maintenance programme by ensuring all equipment receives the correct type and amount of lubricant. This role is essential for maximizing equipment reliability and minimizing wear‑related failures in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled lubrication rounds on plant equipment according to the preventive maintenance plan and record activities in the CMMS/EAM system.
• Identify the appropriate lubricant type, grade and quantity using OEM manuals and lubrication charts.
• Top up, replace and filter oils, greases and other lubricants as required.
• Take oil samples for laboratory analysis and support condition‑based lubrication decisions.
• Inspect equipment for leaks, contamination, abnormal wear or lubrication‑related faults and report findings.
• Maintain accurate lubrication records and ensure proper storage, labeling and handling of lubricants.
• Maintain lubrication tools (grease guns, oil transfer units, filters) in good working condition.
• Assist in root‑cause investigations where lubrication contributes to equipment failure.

Required profile

• Organised with strong material‑management skills.
• Responsible, accountable and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• OND/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production or FMCG environments.
• Relevant certifications in Total Production Management (TPM) and ISO standards are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems for maintenance tracking.
• Experience using lubrication equipment such as grease guns, oil transfer units and filters.
• Ability to perform oil sampling and interpret laboratory results.
• Knowledge of OEM manuals, lubrication charts and preventive maintenance procedures.
