Logistics Officer – Abuja (Fixed‑term)

About the role

GAIN is seeking to recruit a Logistics Officer to support the effective implementation of logistics and fleet operations. The role ensures timely coordination of goods, accurate record‑keeping, efficient fleet utilisation, and compliance with organisational policies. It is offered on a two‑year fixed‑term contract and will be based in Abuja.

Key responsibilities

• Support receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, materials and equipment in line with programme needs.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory systems regularly.
• Track distribution of goods to field locations and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
• Tag, track and document assets, keeping audit‑ready logistics records.
• Collaborate with the Fleet Coordinator to improve logistics processes and systems.
• Liaise with transport and repair services, monitor vendor performance and report issues.
• Maintain and update the asset register for logistics‑related equipment and tools.
• Coordinate daily fleet activities, including vehicle allocation, movement tracking and fuel usage monitoring.
• Assist with routine vehicle servicing, repairs and maintenance, and support travel arrangements for staff.
• Ensure up‑to‑date vehicle records (insurance, registration, inspection) and implement safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing logistics operations, fleet, procurement, warehousing, inventory, vehicle maintenance, scheduling and distribution.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance and supply procedures, with excellent communication and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks while delivering high‑quality work within deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

What we offer

• Gross annual salary ranging from NGN 9,856,248 to NGN 11,255,100, depending on experience.
• Employment on a two‑year fixed‑term contract.
