Loan Recovery Officer – Rivers State

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Loan Recovery Officer to join our team in Rivers State. You will be responsible for managing delinquent loan accounts, negotiating repayment plans, and maintaining positive relationships with customers while meeting recovery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers with overdue loans via phone, email, and field visits.
• Negotiate and implement suitable repayment arrangements.
• Perform skips‑tracing to locate hard‑to‑reach borrowers.
• Maintain accurate recovery records, interaction logs, and collection reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, recovery procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with employers, guarantors, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Achieve monthly recovery targets and portfolio performance goals.
• Escalate high‑risk or unresolved accounts according to the recovery process.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in loan recovery, debt collection, or a related role within a financial institution, fintech, or micro‑finance bank.
• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet set targets.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with loan management systems (preferred).
