Loan Officer

About the role

The Loan Officer will originate and manage a portfolio of individual and business loans across Lagos, ensuring high-quality borrower onboarding and strong portfolio health.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and onboard high-quality borrowers, guiding them through the loan application process.
• Conduct financial analysis, cash‑flow evaluations and risk assessments to determine creditworthiness.
• Perform site visits, business appraisals and collateral verifications in line with internal policies.
• Prepare credit appraisal memos and present recommendations to the Credit Committee.
• Monitor repayment schedules, implement early‑stage recovery strategies and maintain NPL ratios within approved thresholds.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, AML and regulatory frameworks and produce regular portfolio performance reports.

Required profile

• HND in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• 3‑5 years proven experience as a Loan Officer or Credit Analyst in a Microfinance Bank, Commercial Bank or Fintech in Nigeria.
• Strong knowledge of Lagos commercial and retail lending landscape and credit bureau reporting frameworks.
