Live-In Nanny

About the role

H-Ville Consultancy is looking for a live-in nanny to look after children in a family home in Abuja. The role covers day-to-day care, supervision of study and preparation for school, and living with the family.

Key responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving and responsible care for the children
• Help with schoolwork, homework, reading and other learning activities, and supervise study sessions
• Help children develop positive routines, discipline and personal hygiene
• Prepare the children for school and assist with daily routines where required
• Organise age-appropriate educational, recreational and creative activities
• Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times
• Prepare meals and snacks where required, and keep rooms, clothing, toys and belongings clean and organised
• Monitor behaviour, progress and general development
• Communicate regularly with parents about needs, activities and academic progress
• Respect the family's privacy, household rules and cultural or religious practices

Required profile

• Previous experience as a nanny, childcare provider or in a similar role
• Strong ability to help children with homework, reading and basic learning
• Good communication skills with children and parents
• Patience, kindness, emotional maturity and a genuine interest in childcare
• Ability to supervise children, manage routines and maintain appropriate discipline
• Willingness to reside with the family in Abuja; credible references from previous employers are an advantage
• Preferred: female candidates in their 40s, Muslim candidates, and experience supporting children's academic development

Required skills

• Good organisational and time-management skills
• High level of honesty, trustworthiness and reliability
• Basic first-aid knowledge or childcare training is an added advantage
