Lead, Health Information Systems Management

About the role

The Lead, Health Information Systems Management will oversee the design, implementation and optimisation of health information systems across a network of facilities in Imo State. This role ensures data integrity, security and accessibility to support data‑driven decision‑making and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of health information systems to meet clinical, administrative and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and enforce policies for data accuracy, privacy and security in line with national healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with IT teams, healthcare providers and facility managers to integrate systems that improve workflow, reporting and patient care.
• Monitor system performance, identify gaps and recommend upgrades or innovations to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Provide training and ongoing support to staff, promoting a culture of data literacy and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of experience in health information management or IT systems administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a healthcare setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, IT, Public Health or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional certification such as CPHIMS, PMP or equivalent.
• Must be a resident of Imo State or willing to relocate.

Required skills

• Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR).
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools.
• Strong understanding of health information system security and privacy.
