Lead, Head Office Operations Control

About the role

The Lead, Head Office Operations Control will oversee the design, assessment and monitoring of internal controls across all head‑office operational functions and shared services. This role ensures that controls are effective, assets are safeguarded and regulatory requirements are met, acting as the primary liaison between Internal Controls and support functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual internal‑control activity plan, aligning with COSO, ISO 31000 and the bank’s risk framework.
• Design and perform risk‑based control assessments for GL movements, people operations, procurement, real‑estate, complaints management and physical security.
• Validate physical asset existence, valuation and depreciation, linking asset registers to financial statements.
• Monitor entity‑level controls, maintain the central policy repository and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Create and manage KRI dashboards, track control deficiencies and report findings to senior leadership.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Shared Service Control Officers, fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in internal‑control assessments, operational auditing or risk management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Banking or financial‑services background preferred; experience in a Big Four firm is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; Master’s/MBA is a plus.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, CFE or equivalent.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of COSO internal‑control framework and ISO 31000 risk‑management standards.
• Experience with Basel Committee principles for internal control systems in banking.
• Proficiency in risk assessment, control testing and KRI dashboard development.
• Expertise in GL movement monitoring, purchase‑to‑pay processes and asset verification.
