Laundry Attendant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Laundry Attendant to join our hotel’s housekeeping team in Port Harcourt. You will be responsible for handling all guest and hotel linen, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, iron and distribute hotel linens, towels, uniforms and guest laundry.
• Operate commercial laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, steam presses and ironing machines safely and efficiently.
• Inspect items for stains, damage or wear and report any issues to supervisors.
• Follow proper procedures for different fabric types and maintain hygiene standards.
• Maintain accurate records of guest laundry services and deliveries.
• Monitor and report shortages of detergents, fabric softeners and cleaning chemicals.
• Keep the laundry room clean, organized and compliant with health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory management of linens, uniforms and laundry supplies.
• Respond promptly to departmental and guest laundry requests.
• Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs.

Required profile

• Minimum High School qualification (S.S.C.E).
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar laundry role.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial laundry equipment (washing machines, dryers, steam presses, ironing machines).
• Inventory tracking and management of laundry supplies.
• Accurate record‑keeping of laundry services.
