Junior Lawyer – Commercial & Corporate Law

About the role

Primote Africa is seeking a motivated Junior Lawyer to support its commercial and corporate legal activities in Abuja. This entry‑level position offers practical exposure to a range of legal matters while working closely with senior counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and produce concise summaries of findings.
• Draft, review, and proofread contracts, agreements, letters and other legal documents.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing client and internal legal documentation.
• Support corporate and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Maintain organized records of legal documents, agreements and correspondence.
• Help senior lawyers with case preparation, documentation and risk identification.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business.
• Participate in due‑diligence and legal documentation processes.
• Liaise professionally with clients, vendors, government agencies and other stakeholders as required.

Required profile

• LL.B degree from a recognised university.
• Completed Nigerian Law School and called to the Bar, or awaiting call.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
