Junior Field Operations Technician

About the role

Okra Solar is seeking a Junior Field Operations Technician to rotate across test & repair, field deployment, and technical support functions. The role provides hands‑on experience with solar installations, equipment assessment, and customer service in rural Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site checks to verify installation quality, compliance, and performance.
• Support installer training sessions and provide field feedback for product and process improvement.
• Receive, log, and perform Level‑1 equipment assessments, then hand over to the repair team.
• Manage inventory, perform stocktakes, and track repaired or irreparable equipment.
• Handle inbound customer support queries, troubleshoot issues, and communicate warranty outcomes.
• Document processes, SOPs, and field observations; run end‑user satisfaction surveys.

Required profile

• 1–2+ years experience in solar installation, field deployment, or technical support.
• Technical qualification in electrical, electronics, or a related field.
• Comfortable working in rural environments and traveling extensively across Nigeria.
• Familiarity with Airtable, Confluence, and CRM tools.

Required skills

• Solar installation and electrical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of solar system components (panels, batteries, controllers, mesh nodes, wiring).
• Creation of SOPs, process documentation, and reporting.
• Hands‑on electrical safety practices.
• Use of Airtable, Confluence, and CRM tools.
