IT Officer

About the role

The IT Officer will provide day‑to‑day technical support to all employees, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software and network services. This entry‑level position is based in the Marina district of Abuja and reports to the senior IT manager.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line support for computers, printers, internet connectivity, email and other office devices.
• Install, configure and update software and applications on company devices.
• Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, track allocations and coordinate repairs.
• Monitor office internet connectivity, troubleshoot Wi‑Fi and router issues, and liaise with service providers when needed.
• Create, modify and deactivate user accounts, manage software licences and support organisational email.
• Apply antivirus updates, enforce basic security practices and report any cybersecurity incidents.
• Assist with backup procedures and the onboarding/off‑boarding of IT equipment.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to 24 months of relevant IT support experience.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Based in Abuja and able to work on‑site.

Required skills

• Hardware troubleshooting (PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices).
• Software installation, configuration and patch management.
• Network troubleshooting – Wi‑Fi, routers and basic LAN issues.
• Email client support and user account management.
• Antivirus and basic cybersecurity practices.
• IT asset tracking and inventory management.
