Inventory Specialist – Manufacturing & Warehousing

About the role

The Inventory Specialist will maintain accurate records of raw materials, components, finished products, and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment and effective stock control within a manufacturing environment. This role collaborates closely with procurement, production, finance and logistics teams to optimise inventory flow.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all inventory items and conduct regular physical stock counts.
• Monitor inventory levels, trigger replenishment orders and apply FIFO and minimum/maximum stock policies.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, damages, shortages and excess stock.
• Track slow‑moving, obsolete or excess items and recommend appropriate actions.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely receipt of materials.
• Monitor materials usage against Bill of Materials (BOM) and production schedules.
• Prepare periodic inventory reports covering stock levels, variances, consumption and valuation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of inventory control experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• HND or equivalent qualification in a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to prevent stock losses and maintain thorough documentation.
• Good knowledge of warehouse management processes.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with inventory/ERP software.
