About the role
The Inventory Specialist will maintain accurate records of raw materials, components, finished products, and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment and effective stock control within a manufacturing environment. This role collaborates closely with procurement, production, finance and logistics teams to optimise inventory flow.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of all inventory items and conduct regular physical stock counts.
- Monitor inventory levels, trigger replenishment orders and apply FIFO and minimum/maximum stock policies.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, damages, shortages and excess stock.
- Track slow‑moving, obsolete or excess items and recommend appropriate actions.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Monitor materials usage against Bill of Materials (BOM) and production schedules.
- Prepare periodic inventory reports covering stock levels, variances, consumption and valuation.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of inventory control experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- HND or equivalent qualification in a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to prevent stock losses and maintain thorough documentation.
- Good knowledge of warehouse management processes.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Experience with inventory/ERP software.
