Inventory Manager

About the role

Chowdeck is looking for an Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations across its darkstore network in Nigeria. You will be responsible for ensuring product availability, minimizing waste and stockouts, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Own inventory accuracy and stock health across all darkstore locations.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability across product categories.
• Develop and maintain inventory control processes that reduce shrinkage, waste, and discrepancies.
• Analyze inventory performance metrics and recommend improvements to forecasting and replenishment.
• Investigate inventory variances and lead root‑cause analysis for stock losses.
• Coordinate regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
• Work closely with Procurement, Warehouse and Store Operations teams to improve handling and storage practices.
• Monitor product expiry risks and implement processes to minimize write‑offs.
• Track inventory‑related KPIs and prepare performance reports.
• Support the launch of new stores by establishing inventory processes from day one.

Required profile

• Experience managing inventory operations in retail, e‑commerce, logistics, FMCG or supply chain environments.
• Highly analytical with comfort working with large datasets and operational reports.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and stock control processes.
• Ability to quickly identify operational problems and implement practical solutions.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communicator able to work cross‑functionally with multiple stakeholders.
• Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands‑on execution in fast‑paced environments.
• Ownership mindset with high standards of execution.
