Human Resource Manager

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Human Resource Manager to lead our HR function within a fast‑moving shipping and logistics environment. You will shape HR policies, drive recruitment, and support employee development while ensuring compliance with Nigerian labour laws.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and practices aligned with company objectives and labour regulations.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for drivers, dispatch riders, warehouse staff, operations personnel and corporate roles.
• Maintain accurate employee records, oversee onboarding, promotions, transfers and exits.
• Monitor attendance, leave, punctuality and workforce schedules.
• Design performance management systems, including appraisals, KPIs and improvement plans.
• Handle employee relations, grievances, disciplinary actions and workplace conflicts.
• Support payroll preparation with precise attendance and allowance data.
• Develop training programmes based on operational needs and monitor employee engagement.
• Produce HR reports on staffing, turnover, absenteeism and performance for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology or related field.
• At least two years of progressive HR experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, warehousing or supply‑chain environments.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
• Experience managing a diverse workforce including drivers, dispatch personnel and office staff.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems.
