Head of Operations

About the role

The Head of Operations will lead the day‑to‑day activities of Skylight Thrift Co‑operative, driving strategic growth and ensuring operational excellence across all business units. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this senior leader will shape policy, manage budgets, and act as the public face of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to achieve organisational goals and drive growth.
• Provide strategic advice to the Managing Director with market insights and future outlooks.
• Communicate and enforce company policies and legal guidelines throughout the organisation.
• Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with partners, stakeholders, and regulators.
• Manage budgets efficiently and optimise operational expenses.
• Communicate company strategies, objectives, and results to employees at all levels.
• Collaborate with HR and department heads on key hiring decisions.
• Delegate responsibilities, supervise and motivate supervisors to maximise performance.
• Review reports from unit heads and discuss insights with the Managing Director.
• Represent the company as a spokesperson, strengthening its corporate image.
• Oversee and coordinate daily operations to ensure smooth functioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
• 5‑7 years proven experience in a senior operations or leadership role, preferably in the financial sector.
• Strong track record in strategic planning and business growth.
