Head of Legal

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Legal to lead our legal and regulatory function. The role will provide strategic advice, manage legal risk, ensure compliance, and support the company’s growth across all business areas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to the executive team and business units.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
• Manage relationships with regulators, external counsel, and key stakeholders.
• Advise on fintech products, payments, data privacy, consumer protection, and related regulatory matters.
• Oversee corporate governance and company secretarial duties.
• Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Support fundraising, strategic partnerships, and corporate transactions.
• Manage disputes, investigations, and litigation matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) and qualified to practice law.
• Minimum 6 years of legal experience, preferably in fintech, financial services, payments, banking, or technology.
• Strong knowledge of financial services regulations, AML/CFT, data privacy, and corporate governance.
• Proven experience negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to deliver practical, business‑focused legal advice in a fast‑paced environment.
