Head of Human Resources Administration

About the role

Gec Energy Solutions Limited is seeking a senior HR leader to drive strategic people initiatives for its exploration, drilling and project delivery operations in Nigeria. The role combines talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and administrative oversight across office and field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with project timelines, including recruitment of geologists, petroleum engineers, HSE staff, rig crew and support personnel.
• Manage expatriate quotas, work permits and immigration compliance for international staff.
• Lead performance management, succession planning and career development for critical oil & gas roles.
• Design and implement retention programmes for scarce technical talent.
• Oversee payroll, expatriate packages, hazard and offshore allowances while ensuring compliance with the Nigeria Labour Act, NCDMB Nigerian Content Act, PENCOM, ITF, NSITF and NHF.
• Administer group life, HMO and offshore medical evacuation insurance policies.
• Coordinate technical training and certifications such as BOSIET, H2S, OPITO and maintain training matrices for regulatory compliance.
• Supervise head‑office administration, logistics, travel and accommodation for field staff and manage vendor contracts for security, catering, transport and camp facilities.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of HR experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial capacity.
• At least 3 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy or Heavy Engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of NCDMB Act, NUPRC regulations, expatriate management and oilfield HR challenges.

Required skills

• CIPM, SHRM or CIPD certification (preferred).
• Expertise in expatriate administration and compliance with Nigerian labour and content legislation.
• Proficiency in managing union relations and collective bargaining where applicable.
• Familiarity with safety‑related training standards: BOSIET, H2S, OPITO.
