Head of Finance

About the role

Wizer Consulting Services LLP is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to lead the financial integrity, compliance and administrative operations of the firm and its related companies in Lagos. The role will ensure accurate records, timely tax filings and the preparation of financial statements in line with applicable standards, while acting as the main liaison with auditors and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Process requisitions, reimbursements and bank transactions.
• Maintain bank vouchers, cash payments and the fixed asset register.
• Ensure internal control processes are properly maintained.
• Follow up on client receivables and internal staff.
• Develop and monitor monthly and annual budgets.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements according to standards.
• Reconcile discrepancies and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Coordinate with tax consultants and external auditors.
• Prepare tax and statutory returns to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Summarize financial data for management (ageing analysis, collection reports, management accounts).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge with good grasp of IFRS.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management and analytical abilities.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Team player attitude.
