Head of Engineering, Field Verification

About the role

Moniepoint is building a platform that verifies the identity of individuals and businesses as part of its KYC process. The Head of Engineering, Field Verification will own the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for this critical platform, moving it from a keep‑the‑lights‑on mode to a product‑led, scalable service.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Field Verification platform.
• Lead and grow the existing cross‑functional squad and expand the organisation as scope widens.
• Build operational efficiency tools such as trip and route optimisation, task allocation and capacity management for field officers.
• Own the client‑facing APIs, webhooks and back‑office interfaces used by onboarding, loans, compliance and fraud teams.
• Deliver a native mobile experience for field officers.
• Ensure verification data is structured, auditable and compliant across multiple markets.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend depth (Java, Spring Boot).
• At least 5 years of engineering leadership, including managing Engineering Managers.
• Hands‑on experience building platforms that serve multiple internal business units.
• Proven ability to translate operational requirements into engineering solutions.
• Experience collaborating with product and business stakeholders.
• Problem‑solver mindset with experience across fintech, e‑commerce or logistics a plus.
