Group Head of HR

About the role

Our client, a founder‑led technology‑enabled services group, is looking for a commercially minded and execution‑driven HR leader to strengthen the people function and support the organisation’s next phase of growth. Reporting to the Group CEO, the role provides strategic and operational HR leadership across workforce effectiveness, performance management, employee relations, organisational improvement and people development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and initiatives that align with organisational objectives and enhance workforce effectiveness.
• Partner with business leaders to address workforce challenges, provide guidance on organisational structure, workforce planning and people‑related decision‑making.
• Lead talent acquisition, workforce planning and onboarding to attract and retain high‑quality talent.
• Oversee performance management frameworks, guide managers on expectations, under‑performance and accountability.
• Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary processes, investigations, grievances and exits.
• Administer compensation, grading, benefits and payroll processes while ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Drive organisational development initiatives such as leadership development, succession planning and change management.
• Prepare and present HR reports, workforce metrics and people insights to senior management.
• Lead, coach and develop the HR team to deliver high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, Law or related field.
• Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, CIPD or equivalent).
• At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including senior HR leadership roles.
• Proven ability to translate HR strategy into measurable business outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience managing diverse workforce groups and leading performance management, employee relations and workforce restructuring.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness, stakeholder influence and high integrity.
