Grants & Contracts Manager

About the role

The Grants & Contracts Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of grants, contracts and related agreements, ensuring compliance and timely execution. The role works closely with program managers, finance and external partners to monitor deliverables, budgets and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of grants, consulting agreements, subawards, purchase orders and contracts from initiation through closeout.
• Prepare, review and coordinate execution of contracts, statements of work, budgets, amendments, payment schedules and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate approval workflows and ensure agreements are fully executed before work begins.
• Work closely with program managers to monitor implementation progress, deliverables, budgets and contract compliance.
• Review invoices, financial reports and technical deliverables prior to payment processing.
• Liaise with finance to ensure timely payments while complying with donor requirements and contract terms.
• Maintain contract tracking systems, monitor milestones, expirations, amendments and payment schedules.
• Serve as primary liaison among HPS staff, IFPRI counterparts, network partners, consultants, vendors and implementing partners.
• Support proposal development by assisting with budgets, partner documentation and agreement preparation.
• Identify contract risks, resolve operational issues and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in grants and contracts administration.
• An MSc or MBA degree in a related field.
