Grant Writing Executive

About the role

The Grant Writing Executive acts as the strategic lead for all fundraising and grant acquisition work supporting Project GREEN-SEED. The role identifies, researches and cultivates relationships with international NGOs, climate funds, development institutions and multilateral donors, turning the project's technical frameworks on climate-smart agriculture, youth employment and carbon offsets into compelling proposals and presentations that secure funding.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of grant proposals, concept notes and technical bids to major funders such as USAID, the EU-Africa Green Transition Initiative, the Green Climate Fund, the Global Environment Facility and private foundations.
• Work with internal program managers to build project budgets, logical frameworks and M&E indicators that meet donor mandates.
• Maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities across public, private and philanthropic sectors, focused on climate action, food security, youth empowerment and sustainable agriculture in Africa.
• Track donor trends, funding cycles and priority themes to keep the strategy competitive.
• Act as main liaison for donors, preparing narrative progress reports, institutional updates and executive pitch decks.
• Represent the organization at donor networking events, climate forums and development partner roundtables.
• Ensure proposals and grant activities comply with donor guidelines, reporting standards, deadlines and legal requirements.
• Keep a database of grant documentation, donor correspondence and post-award reporting schedules.
