Furniture & Carpentry Specialist

About the role

E-Direct is looking for a Furniture & Carpentry Specialist to construct, repair, and maintain a range of wooden furniture and fittings for its hospitality facilities in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, repair, and maintain beds, tables, chairs, wardrobes, cabinets, shelves and other wooden fittings.
• Measure, cut, shape and assemble wood and other materials according to specifications and technical drawings.
• Install doors, frames, shelves and cabinets, and perform finishing work such as sanding, polishing, staining and painting.
• Inspect completed work for quality, durability and proper finishing, and recommend repairs or replacements as needed.
• Maintain tools and workshop cleanliness, and follow health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification of SSCE.
• At least 2 years of experience in furniture construction, repair or related carpentry work.

Required skills

• Wood measurement, cutting and shaping.
• Furniture assembly and installation.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
• Finishing techniques including sanding, polishing, staining and painting.
