Football Quantitative/Betting Market Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Football Quantitative/Betting Market Analyst to join our team and support Moonlizard's football probability models. You will combine tactical football knowledge with quantitative analysis to evaluate market odds and improve trading strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse Asian Handicap, Over/Under and related football markets, monitoring opening, current and closing prices.
• Calculate implied probability, fair odds, expected value and market edge, and compare them with Moonlizard's model.
• Assess team strength, xG, shots, possession, player availability, injuries, suspensions, line‑ups and tactical changes.
• Distinguish genuine information‑driven market moves from noise and study sharp‑market behaviour.
• Conduct historical back‑testing of trading strategies and evaluate model performance using ROI, yield, CLV, hit rate, drawdown and calibration.
• Investigate winning and losing trades to verify statistical justification.
• Produce clear pre‑match research reports for matches selected by the Moonlizard engine.
• Maintain strict trading discipline and adhere to risk‑management rules.

• Ability to communicate findings clearly and work collaboratively with developers and quantitative researchers.
• Willingness to learn and challenge assumptions while maintaining confidentiality.
