Finance Trade Operations Supervisor – Minerals & Metals

About the role

The Finance Trade Operations Supervisor – Minerals & Metals oversees the financial and operational flow of commodity trading transactions from initiation to settlement. The role ensures accurate costing, profitability tracking, cash‑flow management and compliance with trade documentation and financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Review transaction terms, prepare costings and profitability analyses, and calculate cash‑flow requirements.
• Monitor and control purchase costs, logistics expenses, inspection fees, bank charges, commissions and other transaction‑related costs.
• Coordinate supplier payments, buyer collections and settlement activities, verifying invoices, contracts and payment instructions before execution.
• Reconcile supplier accounts, buyer receipts, bank movements and transaction‑level financial records.
• Track receivables, payables, outstanding balances and settlement timelines, flagging any deviations.
• Support foreign‑currency transactions, exchange‑rate calculations and international payments.
• Liaise with banks and financial institutions on trade‑related payments and documentation.
• Identify and escalate financial, fraud, counter‑party and transaction risks, and prepare regular performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in trade finance, commodity trading, commercial finance or related financial operations.
• Demonstrated experience supporting minerals, metals or other commodity import/export transactions.
• Strong understanding of international trade, Incoterms, foreign‑currency handling and trade documentation.
