Finance & Accounts Manager

About the role

The Finance & Accounts Manager will lead the finance function of Terralix Nigeria Limited, ensuring accurate month‑end close, statutory compliance and robust cash management. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role combines hands‑on accounting, audit preparation and team leadership in a fast‑growing mining and energy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close process, including cut‑off, accruals, depreciation, bank reconciliations and preparation of management accounts.
• Clear backlog of unrecorded transactions, rebuild the trial balance and prepare audit schedules for external auditors.
• Ensure timely statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, CIT, etc.) and file all required tax returns.
• Monitor daily cash position, manage bank relationships, oversee payment processing and support FX transactions.
• Supervise and develop the finance team, enforce internal controls and drive continuous improvement of finance processes.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (completed or final stage with clear timeline).
• Minimum 7 years progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role.
• Proven hands‑on experience cleaning up books, rebuilding trial balances and preparing for audits.
• Experience with ERP implementation or migration; Odoo preferred, SAP/Sage/Oracle acceptable.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation and statutory filing requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling).
• Manufacturing/industrial cost accounting, cash‑forecasting under constrained liquidity, and multi‑currency (USD/NGN) exposure are strongly preferred.
