Fibre Operations Manager

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Fibre Operations Manager to lead the day‑to‑day running of our fibre network in Lagos. You will ensure high availability, performance and safety while guiding a team of technicians and engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily fibre network operations, maintenance and performance monitoring.
• Manage KPIs, SLAs and operational metrics, and develop process improvements.
• Lead and schedule fibre technicians, engineers and support staff, providing coaching and performance reviews.
• Direct preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, fault response, outage resolution and emergency restoration.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, vendors and contractors during deployments and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with telecom standards, conduct safety audits and maintain accurate documentation.
• Control operational budgets, optimise resource use and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• BSc degree (any discipline).
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar fibre operations role.
• Relevant safety certification such as OSHA.
• Mid‑level professional (approximately 3 years of experience).

Required skills

• FOA (Fibre Optic Association) certification.
• CFOT (Certified Fibre Optic Technician) certification.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) – advantageous.
• OSHA safety certification.
