Experienced Accountant

About the role

The Experienced Accountant role at wellcarehomemedicals is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Lagos State, Nigeria. The accountant will manage day‑to‑day financial operations, including posting journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling bank and cash accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, process invoices and payments.
• Maintain and reconcile bank and cash accounts.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and support financial planning.
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with operations and management teams to provide financial insights and improve internal controls.

Required profile

• Strong skills in financial accounting and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for management reporting.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash/bank reconciliation processes.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel abilities.
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, regulatory requirements and audit procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (ACA, ACCA) is an advantage.
• Several years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, retail or service‑oriented organisations.
