English Teacher

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic English Teacher to join New Wave International School in Enugu. The role involves preparing and delivering engaging English lessons that develop students’ grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and communication skills. You will contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment and support students’ academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive English lessons covering grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and comprehension.
• Create lesson plans, learning materials, assignments and assessments.
• Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress.
• Maintain a disciplined, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages critical‑thinking.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, performance and progress.
• Participate in school meetings, activities and other academic responsibilities.
• Stay updated on effective teaching methods and educational practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education or a related field.
• 1–2 years of teaching experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• Ability to design engaging, student‑centred lessons.
• Passion for teaching and helping students succeed.
• Teaching certifications or relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.
