EC&I Engineer – Onsite Nigeria

About the role

The EC&I Engineer will design, specify and implement electrical, control and instrumentation systems for on‑site operations in Nigeria. This contract position involves developing technical documentation, supporting commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance, and collaborating closely with project, operations and safety teams to ensure reliable plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review HV/LV electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS, cable trays, earthing and bonding.
• Specify and manage hazardous‑area equipment, Ex inspection programmes, and safety‑critical systems such as ESD, Fire & Gas and SIS.
• Develop and maintain PLC/DCS control systems, instrumentation, calibration and proof‑testing procedures.
• Assess equipment reliability, ageing assets, obsolescence and maintenance backlogs.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates and conduct technical gap and integrity risk assessments.

Required profile

• BEng/BSc/HND in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 8–10+ years of experience in oil & gas or heavy‑industrial projects, preferably offshore or production‑facility environments.
• Proven site‑based engineering experience with strong knowledge of ESD, F&G, SIS and hazardous‑area standards.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in multicultural settings.
