Cook – Staff Canteen Kitchen

About the role

Fresh Serve is looking for a disciplined, hygienic Cook to join the MeCure Staff Canteen Kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of Nigerian and continental meals, snacks, and pastries in a fast‑paced environment while upholding the highest food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals according to approved recipes, including multiple rice dishes, soups, stews, traditional Nigerian dishes, continental meals, and pasta.
• Produce snacks and pastries such as meat pies, doughnuts, puff‑puff, sausage rolls, and sandwiches.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring cleanliness of work areas, proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.
• Assist with meal planning, kitchen production schedules, inventory management, and waste minimisation.
• Plate meals attractively and ensure consistent portioning and presentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant, canteen, hotel or similar food‑service setting.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian and continental cuisine and ability to produce large‑quantity meals efficiently.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and work under pressure.
• Professional attitude, discipline, honesty and a teamwork spirit.
