Cook – Large-Scale Catering

About the role

Jad Catering Services is seeking an experienced Cook to join its kitchen team in Delta, Marina. The role involves preparing and cooking a wide range of local and continental dishes for large‑scale meal operations while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook diverse menu items according to approved recipes and HACCP standards.
• Produce meals for large numbers of personnel, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
• Monitor portion sizes, control waste, and support cost‑effective operations.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene at all times.
• Handle, store, and rotate food items using FIFO principles.
• Assist in menu planning and suggest improvements for variety and quality.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any defects.
• Support inventory control by reporting shortages and participating in stock counts.
• Collaborate with supervisors, chefs, and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
• Comply with all company Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum Secondary School Certificate; culinary training or catering certification is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience as a cook in large‑scale catering, hospitality, industrial camp, offshore, FPSO, hotel, or institutional settings.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian and continental cuisines.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication, teamwork skills, and physical fitness for rotational schedules.
