Commercial Officer

About the role

The Commercial Officer will lead the preparation and submission of commercial and technical tenders, ensuring compliance with client specifications. This senior position involves managing contracts, claims and fostering client relationships across the construction portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit commercial and technical tenders in line with client requirements.
• Collate statutory, technical and regulatory documents for tender submissions.
• Maintain and renew company certifications and licences required for tendering.
• Administer contracts, evaluate variations and manage claims throughout project life cycles.
• Oversee electronic and physical document management systems and conduct quality assurance checks on bid documents.
• Represent the company in executive presentations, conferences and business development activities.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying or related discipline with at least 6 years post‑NYSC experience.
• Registered Quantity Surveyor with NIQS and proven ability to prepare tenders and administer contracts independently.
• Strong analytical, organisational, reporting and presentation skills.
• Professionalism, discretion, integrity and executive presence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit or SketchUp.
