Clinical Program Officer – Outpatient Therapeutic Services

About the role

The Clinical Program Officer will lead the delivery of quality Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) services for children with severe acute malnutrition in Konduga LGA, supporting Mercy Corps’ multi‑sector response to the humanitarian crisis in North East Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and oversee the Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) for children with severe acute malnutrition.
• Provide technical support for medical consultations, Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) outreach, health and nutrition education, and sanitation activities.
• Conduct nutrition surveillance, community nutrition screening, and nutrition surveys to monitor vulnerable populations.
• Manage referral pathways for children with medical complications to Stabilisation Centers and coordinate Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programs (TSFP).
• Supervise and mentor field staff, ensuring adherence to standard protocols and quality standards.

Required profile

• Relevant clinical or public health qualification (e.g., Clinical Officer, Nursing, Public Health).
• Experience working in nutrition or child health programs in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to work in remote, insecure environments and engage with community members.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with local authorities and partners.
