Chinese Translator

About the role

Worklyn Global is seeking a skilled Chinese Translator to support daily communication between Mandarin‑speaking management and local staff in Abuja. The role involves both interpretation and document translation across a range of business activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation between Mandarin Chinese and English during meetings, training sessions, site visits and routine operations.
• Translate business documents, emails, reports, contracts, instructions, notices and other written materials.
• Facilitate clear communication between Chinese‑speaking managers and Nigerian employees.
• Accompany Chinese management to meetings, supplier visits, project sites and other official engagements requiring translation support.
• Ensure translated content retains original meaning, tone and context.
• Assist with communication between the company and Chinese clients, suppliers, contractors and partners.
• Explain cultural or language differences to prevent misunderstandings.
• Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information and keep a professional glossary of industry‑specific terminology.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chinese Language, Linguistics, Translation, International Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both spoken and written.
• Minimum three years (36 months) of proven experience as a Chinese translator or interpreter.
• Strong listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities in both languages.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate quickly while preserving meaning.
• Understanding of Chinese and Nigerian business cultures and ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common workplace communication tools.
