Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the role

Seismic Consulting Group seeks a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead the design, development and deployment of AI‑first, cloud‑native digital platforms across Africa and emerging markets. The CTO will shape technology strategy, drive product innovation and ensure secure, scalable solutions that improve institutional performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a technology vision that includes AI‑first solutions, cloud‑native architecture and data‑driven decision systems.
• Lead product innovation from concept to commercialization, balancing user needs, scalability, security and revenue generation.
• Oversee engineering, AI/ML, DevOps, data science, QA and cybersecurity teams, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Manage vendor relationships, SLAs, procurement and technology budgeting with a focus on cost optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with NDPA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and other industry regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field, plus relevant certifications.
• Minimum 15 years of post‑bachelor experience, including senior executive leadership in technology.

• Cloud computing platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Software architecture, distributed systems, micro‑services.
• Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, MLOps, DevSecOps.
• Data engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise platforms.
• Strong knowledge of networking, server management and modern web/mobile delivery.
