Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Head of Strategy

About the role

The CFO & Head of Strategy is a senior member of the Executive Management Team at a fast‑growing microfinance bank undergoing a digital transformation. The role combines financial stewardship with strategic leadership to drive digital lending, agent banking and fintech partnerships while ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the bank’s digital transformation agenda, including mobile lending, agent banking and fintech partnerships.
• Manage the full finance function: budgeting, IFRS reporting, treasury, capital management and cost control.
• Identify new business opportunities, market segments and partnership models to support scalable growth.
• Drive capital‑raising initiatives and manage relationships with investors, DFIs and fintech partners.
• Ensure risk, compliance and internal controls across both traditional and digital channels.
• Own product economics, pricing structures and partnership agreements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree plus ICAN/ACCA certification (mandatory); MBA or Master’s preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience with at least 5 years in senior finance/strategy leadership within microfinance, banking or fintech.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS, CBN guidelines and Nigerian financial regulations.
• Proven track record in financial management, regulatory relationship handling and strategic planning.
