CHE Analyst

About the role

The CHE Analyst supports safe and efficient terminal operations at APM Terminals in Port Harcourt. You will work in the control room, coordinating vessel and yard plans, and ensuring optimal utilization of Container Handling Equipment (CHE). This role is critical for maintaining uninterrupted flow of cargo and upholding health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and sign‑off vessel plans, adjusting housekeeping as needed to optimise subsequent plans.
• Synchronise vessel recaps with planned operations, evaluating and improving the next‑2‑hour work plan for vessels, yard and gate operations.
• Coordinate loading and discharge points, maximise CHE utilisation and productivity.
• Prepare and update RTG, EH and RS travelling plans for the upcoming two hours.
• Analyse deviations, report safety risks, near‑misses and incidents promptly.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders in the control room to ensure continuous, non‑interrupted operations.
• Provide detailed handover reports for shift transitions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vessel planning, yard planning and housekeeping.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑changing environment.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently without close supervision.
• Strong prioritisation skills and capacity to sustain high energy levels during long working hours.
