Cashier

About the role

The Cashier will manage daily cash operations for loan repayments, savings deposits, and disbursements at Swift Consulting's Lagos office. This role ensures accurate record‑keeping, supports members with payment inquiries, and collaborates closely with the Accounts and Loan Officers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process loan repayments, savings deposits, and other member payments.
• Disburse approved loans following established procedures.
• Issue receipts, maintain transaction documentation, and balance the cash drawer.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash reports.
• Deposit cash into designated bank accounts as required.
• Ensure security and confidentiality of cash and financial records.
• Respond professionally to member inquiries regarding payments.
• Report cash discrepancies or suspicious transactions immediately.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• OND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience as a Cashier, Teller, or similar financial role.
• Experience in a micro‑finance bank, cooperative society, or financial institution is a plus.
• Good knowledge of cash‑handling procedures and basic accounting principles.
• Strong numerical, organizational, and record‑keeping abilities.
• High integrity, honesty, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
