Business Development Officer – Institutional Sales (Pensions)

About the role

The Business Development Officer – Institutional Sales will drive revenue growth by identifying, developing and closing new institutional investment opportunities within the pension sector. You will expand the client base, build strategic relationships and promote investment products to meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new institutional clients and business opportunities.
• Develop and implement sales and market‑penetration strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate and institutional clients.
• Mobilise investment funds from corporate organisations, government institutions and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations and investment proposals.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to uncover growth opportunities.
• Negotiate business deals and manage client objections effectively.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop client‑focused investment solutions.
• Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences and networking engagements.
• Maintain accurate client records and prepare periodic business development reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in business development or institutional sales, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Professional certifications in finance, sales or business development are an added advantage.
