Business Development Officer – Healthcare

About the role

Amara Medicare is looking for a Business Development Officer to grow its referral network across the Anambra region. The role focuses on building partnerships with healthcare professionals, pharmacies, schools, churches and corporate organisations to drive patient acquisition for specialist eye, dental and ENT services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and maintain referral relationships with healthcare professionals, optometrists, physicians, hospitals and clinics.
• Build and manage networks of optometrists, pharmacies, schools, churches, community groups and corporate partners.
• Establish referral pathways for eye, dental, ENT, and other specialist care.
• Develop relationships with HMOs, insurance providers and corporate institutions to expand patient access.
• Maintain a structured database of referral partners, track referrals, conversion rates and report on business development performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in business development, sales or medical sales, preferably in healthcare.
• Existing relationships within the Anambra healthcare ecosystem are an advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, travel within Awka and surrounding communities, and hold a valid driver’s licence.
