Business Development Manager - West and Central Africa

About the role

Christian Aid is seeking a Business Development Manager for the West and Central Africa region, based in Abuja. The role will drive new funding opportunities and expand the organisation’s institutional donor portfolio across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new funding aligned with Christian Aid’s strategy and thematic priorities.
• Develop and implement donor engagement strategies in collaboration with the Partnership and Strategy Lead and Business Development teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, multilateral organisations, institutional donors and foundations.
• Grow funding pipelines, monitor progress against income targets and contribute to divisional goals.
• Work closely with MCC programme and partnership teams to align funding proposals with programme portfolios.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, fundraising or donor relations within the development sector.
• Strong understanding of institutional funding mechanisms and multi‑country programme contexts.
• Excellent communication and partnership building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence senior stakeholders.
