Business Development Manager

About the role

Cordros Registrars Limited is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to grow its retail investment business. The role focuses on acquiring new clients, expanding existing relationships, and increasing assets under management through mutual fund and other investment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive revenue and client‑acquisition targets by promoting Cordros Registrars’ products and services.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to win new issuer mandates and broaden market presence.
• Build a robust sales pipeline through networking, referrals, partnerships, industry events and targeted prospecting.
• Cross‑sell value‑added registrar solutions such as e‑dividend, e‑mandate, shareholder verification and AGM support.
• Maintain strong relationships with listed companies, private firms, shareholders, company secretaries, legal advisers, issuing houses, stockbrokers and trustees.
• Prepare and deliver business proposals, presentations and service demonstrations to prospective and existing clients.
• Collaborate with Operations, IT, Compliance and Client Services to ensure smooth onboarding and implementation of new mandates.
• Monitor Nigerian capital‑market developments, regulatory changes and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, Accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in securities registrars, capital‑market operations, issuer services or related financial‑services sales.
• Proven track record in business development, client acquisition and relationship management within the capital‑market ecosystem.
• Existing network of contacts in the Nigerian capital market is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of registrar operations, shareholder administration, corporate actions and electronic shareholder services.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM platforms for pipeline and client‑engagement management.
• Familiarity with KYC/AML compliance processes and related regulatory requirements (SEC, NGX, etc.).
