Biology Teacher

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is based at Lead British International School in Ibadan. The Biology Teacher will plan, prepare and deliver engaging Biology lessons aligned with the school’s blended British‑Nigerian curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Biology lessons that meet curriculum standards.
• Assess student learning, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate progress records.
• Support students in preparation for internal and external examinations.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages scientific curiosity.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership, participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Contribute to co‑curricular activities that develop critical thinking and interest in science.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher with proven teaching expertise in a school setting.
• Strong subject‑matter proficiency in Biology, able to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Effective lesson‑planning skills to design structured, age‑appropriate learning activities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, families and colleagues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Science Education or a related field; teaching certification or license is highly desirable.
• Experience with the British or blended British‑Nigerian curriculum is an advantage.
• Ability to use educational technology to support instruction and assessment.
• Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding, learner welfare and inclusive education.
