Biochemistry Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Biochemistry Specialist to join a leading biotechnology research client on a remote contract basis. The role involves designing, executing, and analysing biochemical experiments that support the development of novel therapeutic approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement biochemical assays to evaluate protein function and interactions.
• Develop and refine protocols for protein expression, purification, and characterization.
• Analyse experimental data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
• Document procedures, results, and findings in compliance with quality standards.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges in experimental workflows and propose solutions.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in biochemistry principles with hands‑on laboratory experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams remotely.

Required skills

• Protein expression systems (E. coli, mammalian cells, cell‑free).
• Biochemical assays such as ELISA, Western blot, and activity assays.
• Chromatography techniques (affinity, ion exchange, size‑exclusion).
• Data analysis tools (GraphPad Prism, Excel, Python).
• Molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, DNA/RNA handling).
