Bank Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and analytical Bank Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will manage banking transactions, perform bank reconciliations, monitor loan and foreign‑exchange activities, and ensure the accuracy of banking records while maintaining compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and record daily banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and journal entries.
• Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Monitor bank charges, commissions, and interest to ensure they align with agreed terms.
• Prepare documentation for bank credit facilities (loans, letters of credit, guarantees) and follow up on approvals and utilization.
• Monitor long‑term loan balances, repayment schedules, accrued interest, and prepare related accounting entries.
• Initiate and register electronic Form M for import transactions on the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal.
• Revalue foreign‑currency AP and AR balances at month‑end and calculate unrealized FX gains/losses.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, company policies, and internal control procedures.
• Support month‑end closing activities and other finance‑related assignments as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP ERP.
